Junior Exhibitors, Midwest Charity Horse Show will offer both American Saddlebred Horse Association Foundation Junior Exhibitor Driving Challenge classes at this year’s show. The ASHA Foundation Junior Exhibitor Driving Challenge, funded by Elisabeth Goth, features a show pleasure driving class, number 111, and new this year, country pleasure driving, class number 131A.  Midwest will also to continue to offer a junior exhibitor fine harness class, class number 131, even though it is not part of the Driving Challenge.  

Midwest has also added a Hackney or Harness Pony Country Pleasure Driving qualifier and championship, class numbers 16 and 147 respectively.  Also new this year will be added jackpot classes. Jackpot classes include the Five Gaited Championship, class number 210; the Three Gaited Championship, class number 206; and the Fine Harness Championship, class number 193.  According to Midwest Charity Horse Show Manager and President, Judy Kjellander, “We are looking forward to a really great show and hope these new classes will afford more opportunities for our exhibitors.”  Midwest will continue to offer its popular "Best in Show,” with a $500 award to the owner of the horse selected by the judging panel.

Midwest’s distinguished panel of judges includes Nancy Becker of Nicholasville, KY; Randy Harper of Shelbyville, Ky; and Euchee Matthews of Alachua, FL. The 71st Midwest Charity Horse Show, June 12-16, is held at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Coliseum and runs five days with class sessions at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. daily.
