Buckeye Morgan sale yields strong numbers
Wednesday, April 12, 2017

JJP Timeless Affaire (Minion Millennium x JW Romantic Affair) topped the Buckeye Morgan Horse Sale with a winning bid of $37,000. The 12-year-old chestnut mare sold in foal to SpiceOLife Present Tense GCH. She was consigned by John Yoder of Millersburg, IN, and was purchased by Joe Zehr of Goshen, IN.

The 15th annual sale was held March 31-April 1 at the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland Ohio. Friday night was the much-anticipated Stallion Presentation with 40 well-bred, beautifully presented stallions. In the capable hands of auctioneers Andy Raber and Todd Woodruff, the bidding started and continued strong throughout the sale. Pedigree readers Steve Smith and Gene Brown kept the audience informed about each horse’s pedigree and level of training.

The top five selling horses averaged $22,500 and the top ten averaged $16,600.

TRE I Wonder (Mizrahi x AMHF Bewitched), a three- year-old bay mare, was purchased by Lynn Peeples. She sold for $21,000.

The yearling colt, HPW High On You (Ingates Eye of the Tiger x Halle Berry), was purchased by Joe Zehr with a top bid of $20,000.

“Records were broken this year with the highest prices and averages that this sale has ever had,” said Sale Committee Secretary Nancy Rebman. “The 15th annual Buckeye Morgan Horse Sale was a great success due to the support of our consignors, buyers and vendors.”
