ASHA Triple Crown Challenge

The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) is excited to announce the ASHA Triple Crown Challenge.

In the history of the Saddle Seat Equitation Triple Crown, only 12 riders have won the three prestigious finals (The AHSA/USEF Saddle Seat Medal, The UPHA Challenge Cup, and (NHS) The Good Hands) in one season. The ASHA Triple Crown Challenge will celebrate these riders in a three-gaited performance class held Friday evening, July7, 2017 at the Lexington Junior League Horse Show at the famed Red Mile Racetrack in Lexington, Ky. The class will be judged by a three-judge panel, but in additional to the judges’ selection, a Crowd Favorite will be awarded. To help support your favorite Triple Crown rider, make a tax-deductible donation in their honor. The rider that raises the most funds will be announced as the Crowd Favorite.

This event is designed to be a FUNdraiser and promotional event for the American Saddlebred.

"The ASHA is proud to be presenting the Triple Crown Challenge and would like to thank the host show, Lexington Junior League, for their generosity in helping produce this event. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase many of our great equitation stars from the past and present. Even more exciting, profits from this event will be invested into our Marketing account to be used by our talented Marketing Committee, led by Allen Bosworth. The Marketing Committee has submitted a comprehensive strategy to propel the American Saddlebred into the public eye and execute our mission to 'promote, improve, and protect the grace, intelligence, and versatility of the American Saddlebred...while fostering public awareness of the breed.' I am looking forward to this fun-filled event!" said ASHA President, Donna Pettry-Smith.

The ASHA is grateful to the participating Triple Crown riders for participating:
Jama Hedden
Kate Harvey Codeanne
Catherine Schuessler McNeese
Amanda Arrick
Sarah Thordsen

Faye Wuesthofen

ASHA is also appreciative to the Lexington Junior League Horse Show for providing a wonderfully historic venue, and the crowd, who will surely make this an electrifying event!
