Obituary - Peter Webster

Peter S. Webster, 74, passed away on August 22, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born June 12, 1942 in Springfield, Massachusetts, son of Francis and Blanche Webster. Peter was raised in West Springfield and lived in Hampden before moving to Belchertown 36 years ago. He graduated from West Springfield High School and AIC with a degree in accounting. After college, he took a job in New York City in the garment district for a Mercantile Company. He moved back to Massachusetts and got into banking with First Bank and Trust Co. in Hampden. He left banking to go into manufacturing at Aim Packaging then to Plastic Packaging in W. Springfield. Peter currently worked as a finance advisor for Rock Valley Tool in Easthampton for many years.
Peter's great love of horses brought him to many venues of horsemanship including polo in his younger days. He bought his first Morgan horse in 1971, and that was the start of his lifelong passion of competitive riding and carriage driving throughout the New England region. He was an active member of the Massachusetts Morgan Horse Show Association. He was a terrific father, grandfather and husband. Peter was one of a kind he was well loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed. Rest in peace, Peter.
He will be missed by his wife of 36 years, Paulette (Jodoin) Webster. He also leaves four children, Stephanie Allen, Todd Allen, Todd Webster, and Melissa Shockley. He will also be missed by five grandchildren: Kendall Shockley, Paul Shockley, Emma Watson, Leah Rose Allen, and Caleb Allen; and a brother, Gary Webster.
Calling hours will be Saturday, September 17 from 1-4 p.m at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Shriner's Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, or MMHA Scholarship Fund c/o Jeff Morse , 236 Perry's Peak Rd., Richmond, MA 01254.
