Jean Mutrux’s Absolute Empress was recently recognized by Red Cell as their Horse Of The Month. Bred by Jan Burden and Don Schilling, Absolute Empress is a daughter of Absolutely Starheart and Galahad’s I.D. Clare. This versatile mare has done everything from being shown as a weanling and yearling in Futurity classes to two-year-old fine harness to winning the first All-American Cup Hunter Country Pleasure Prospect Championship to Saddle & Bridle’s Working Hunter Classic Finals and Hunter Over Fences Finals. There’s nothing this mare hasn’t done and done well.
Mutrux and Absolute Empress were also ASHA’s Hunter Pleasure Champion. They have ventured into the world of dressage and trail riding, exposing the American Saddlebred to many others outside of our breed.
When asked why they have done so much, this is the response Mutrux had. “Mostly because I ask her to do it. She’s not afraid to try anything.”
