2017 Qualifying Requirements
Adult Amateur and Junior Exhibitor Hackney/Harness Pony Pleasure Driving Divisions
1. All ponies must qualify to compete in the Adult Amateur and Junior Exhibitor Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Divisions of the 2017 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show.
Ponies will be entered in these Divisions only if they have been shown a minimum of six (6) classes, in three (3) or more different competitions, in the Hackney Show Pleasure Driving or Hackney Country Pleasure Divisions, beginning July 1, 2016, through July 15, 2017. The same pony may qualify and enter and/or compete in both the Junior Exhibitor and the Adult Amateur Show Pleasure Driving Classes at the Kentucky State Fair. Qualification will not be required for ponies four years old or under competing in the Adult Amateur Junior Hackney Show Pleasure Driving classes.
Ponies that are to be shown in the Adult Amateur and/or Junior Exhibitor Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Division at the 2017 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show will be required to qualify by showing in a minimum of six (6) classes at three (3) or more shows. A pony may show in junior exhibitor, adult, novice, local, or limit classes in the Hackney Show Pleasure or Country Pleasure Driving Divisions, with all classes to count toward qualification. Pleasure pony under saddle, park pleasure driving and open breed pleasure driving classes will not be considered as qualifying classes. The pony may qualify by showing in any combination of Adult Amateur and/or Junior Exhibitor Hackney Show Pleasure Driving or Hackney Country Pleasure Driving classes, as long as the pony is shown in a minimum of six (6) classes, at three (3) or more different competitions. Classes at the 2016 Kentucky State Fair will NOT count as qualifying classes for the 2017 Kentucky State Fair.
Effective for the 2017 World's Championship Horse Show, any class added to a qualifying show's schedule after the prize list, class sheet or class schedules has been printed and/or posted on the show's web site, Facebook page, etc., will be allowed to count as a qualifying class for Kentucky State Fair's World's Championship Horse Show as long as notification is made at least two weeks in advance to KSF show management, the American Hackney Horse Society Executive Secretary, and exhibitors. Classes denoted as "buy a class" or "TBA" are considered added classes and therefore will not be counted unless the prior notification process is followed. Classes that are added during the week a horse show is scheduled to be held will not count for qualifying.
2. Qualifying information for the Adult Amateur and Junior Exhibitor Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Divisions will be contained in the 2017 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show Premium Book.
3. The American Saddlebred Horse Association, working in partnership with the American Hackney Horse Society, will provide the American Hackney Horse Society access to the ASHA's database for eligibility verification purposes.
• All Hackney ponies competing in any competition listed on the ASHA's database, regardless of whether such competition is a USEF licensed competition, will be eligible for consideration. In order for a non-licensed competition to be listed on the ASHA's database, a representative of that competition must notify the American Hackney Horse Society as to the dates, location, and contact person of the competition at least two weeks before the competition is to be held. The secretary or the manager of said competition is responsible for sending in the results to the American Hackney Horse Society within ten (10) days after the competition and by the closing date of the qualifying period. Results will not be accepted (regardless of the postmark or meter date) by the American Hackney Horse Society that are received in the office after the closing date of the qualifying period. Any competition that has not been previously listed on the ASHA's database must register with the American Hackney Horse Society at least 30 days prior to the competition dates in order to be a qualifying competition for the World's Championship Horse Show. All information regarding requests made for a non-licensed show to become a qualifying show and the results of these shows will be forwarded by the Executive Secretary of the American Hackney Horse Society to the ASHA to be added to the database.
• Only classes and shows accumulated during the qualifying period in the Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Division or the Hackney Country Pleasure Driving Division will count toward qualifying for the Kentucky State Fair. Classes and shows accumulated during the qualifying period remain with a pony, regardless of any change(s) of ownership.
• Any exhibitor wishing to check their qualifying status may do so by contacting the Executive Secretary of the AHHS.
• The exhibitor will be required to submit a list of the six (6) classes and three (3) competitions with their entries for the 2017 Kentucky State Fair.
• The Executive Secretary of the AHHS and the AHHS Registry Committee will verify the eligibility of each pony entered in the Adult Amateur and Junior Exhibitor Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Divisions by accessing the ASHA database as soon as possible after the close of entries for the 2017 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show.
• The Kentucky State Fair reserves the right to resolve any dispute as to the accuracy of eligibility to determine which ponies are deemed eligible to compete.
4. The Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Hosre Show is a member of the USEF, and is therefore subject to all USEF rules and regulations.
5. The Kentucky State Fair reserves the right to make a determination to exclude a class from inclusion that does not qualify as a Hackney Show Pleasure Driving Division competition, such as any of the following: "open pleasure driving;" "park pleasure driving;" "open to all breeds pleasure driving;" "pleasure pony under saddle;" opportunity classes, or any class other than Hackney Show Pleasure Driving.
6. The Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show reserves to itself, without limitation, the sole and unconditional right to interpret any questions or dispute with regard to the interpretation of the above, including any ancillary questions, without further recourse, and its decision shall be final.
