ASR Futurity Weanling Payments And Foal Registration Deadline Approaching

The grace period deadline to submit ASR Futurity weanling payments and foal registration applications (for weanlings showing at the World’s Championship Horse Show) is Wednesday, July 1, 2015.
Weanling payments for the Kentucky, Kentucky Amateur and National Three-Year-Old Futurities are due by Wednesday, July 1 in order to maintain future eligibility, even if a weanling is not showing this year. Payments must be postmarked by the US Postal Service or faxed to 859.259.1628 on or before the July 1st deadline.
For weanlings showing in the Kentucky &/or Kentucky Amateur Weanling Divisions, at the World’s Championship Horse Show, the deadline to submit applications for registration to the ASR office is also Wednesday, July 1. Applications received or postmarked after July 1 and up to July 8, will incur an additional $50 rush fee. No weanling will be allowed to show with a conditional registration number, which means DNA or blood testing must be done promptly.
All ASR Futurity entries must be properly entered on entry forms provided by the Kentucky State Fair. Entry forms may be downloaded from the Kentucky State Fair website, www.kystatefair.org or by calling the Horse Show Office at 502.367.5300.
For any eligible horse entering the ring in an ASR Futurity class, a Declaration of Intent to Show form must be filed and the starting fee paid by 2:00 p.m. ET, on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Failure to declare and pay the starting fee by the above deadline, will result in an added $500 penalty and must be paid before the last day of the competition. The added penalty does not apply to horses that have been properly scratched from a futurity class. Declarations will be mailed at the end of July to owners, trainers &/or agents of eligible horses that have been entered in ASR Futurity classes at the 2015 World’s Championship Horse Show.
Beginning this year, a total of $20,000 from the Kentucky Breeders’ Incentive Fund, will be added to the ASR Kentucky Futurity-Weanling Division. The top three highest placed Kentucky-breds will receive the added incentive funds with 70% awarded to the breeder and 30% to the stallion owner (at the time of service). To be eligible, weanlings must be registered with ASR, foaled in Kentucky, sired by a stallion standing in Kentucky (at the time of service), and bred by a Kentucky resident. Eligible breeders and stallion owners must be current members of Kentucky Saddlebred Owners and Breeders Association (KSOBA) prior to the competition.
