Candids of the Week




The grand dame of Southern States Morgan Regional Horse Show, Fran Pugh got in on the fun of the Surf Simulator with trainer Ken Swanson.


It was an all around good night for Phoenix Stables. Careen Cardin won the Five-Gaited Jackpot with Worthy’s World To Know and Juan Martinez was recognized as the first recipient of the Ken Logan Caretaker Award. Trainer Kevin Tomasko was proud of both accomplishments.

Amy, Mike and Ashlyn Gendjar were part of the Rand contingent participating at the Greater Boston Charity Horse Show. Three generations of the Gatewood family won classes this past weekend.


Manya Smalley and her girls, Ally Vaughn, Sydney LoCascio and Alayna LoCascio, enjoyed a very successful Southern States Morgan Regional winning tons of blue ribbons.


Dianne Lents is congratulated by trainer Dwayne Knowles after winning the Classic Pleasure Driving Reserve Championship with Whitemud Fine & Dandy at Southern States.


From Fairfield South, Taylor Pszeniczny was Greater Boston’s Saddle Seat Equitation Grand Champion and 17 & under winner. She was congratulated by her mom, Andrea Gallant.


Four for four this year, SLB Andiamo and Kathleen Kabel won Greater Boston’s Morgan English Pleasure Jackpot and ladies qualifier after sweeping the open and championship at UPHA 14 Spring Premiere.

Tim Roesink is so proud of Nancy Hendricks after earning four blues and two reserves at the Southern States Morgan Regional.

Kaylyn Minnis was thrilled with her reserve finish in the Hunt Seat Equitation Championship at Southern States behind West Coast Morgans stablemate Alexandra Popper, both girls under the direction of Anne Winograd and Valarie Siemer.

Part of an incredible week by Taylor River Farm, Richard Boule and Cabot French Reflection were Greater Boston’s Morgan Western Pleasure Grand Champions for Marion Bengtson.

Marlene and Dan La Fleur were joined by their three children, Neva La Fleur, Liv Moyer and Trond La Fleur to celebrate 50 years in the Saddlebred business on Saturday evening at their home in Verona, WI. Dan and Marlene bought their first farm in 1965 and moved La Fleur Stables to it’s current location in 2001.

Dwayne Knowles, Cindy Nord and Allyson Nord Wandtke enjoyed a blue ribbon week at Southern States Morgan Regional.

Kathy and Kendra Peeples flew solo at the Southern States Morgan Regional. Kathy collected blue ribbons in English, Western and Hunt classes while Kendra captured it all on the camera.

Barbara Adams Grasso and Memories Of Forty Second Street swept the Country Western Pleasure Championship and qualifier at Greater Boston.
