OMHA To Host Western Dressage Clinic

The Ohio Morgan Horse Association (OMHA) is pleased to offer a two-day Western Dressage clinic with Cliff Swanson.  Mr. Swanson is a founding member of the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA), leads the WDAA’s Train the Trainer program and has owned and operated Swan’s Training Stable for over 30 years.  Additionally Mr. Swanson holds judging cards in a variety of breeds and disciplines including Morgan, Saddlebred and Quarter Horse, and he has garnered world championship titles in at least seven different divisions.

Western Dressage is a melding of training methods found in both Classical Dressage and Western Horsemanship.  Its techniques and principles are valuable for equestrians in all facets of riding, from home training and enjoyment through the highest levels of competition.  The discipline is rapidly growing and Western Dressage is gaining a strong foothold as a recognized and respected method of training and a competitive division.

The clinic, to be held May 30 and 31 at Windcrest Morgan Farm in Wooster, Ohio, will feature eight 2 hour sessions.  Each session may have up to six riders who will have Mr. Swanson’s full attention and reap the benefits of his vast knowledge, guidance and advice.  Riders of all ages and ability levels, and horses of all breeds, are welcome and encouraged to participate.  Auditors are welcome as well.

OMHA is also planning a Meet the Clinician reception to be held on Friday, May 29.  Details for this event are still in the planning stages.

For more information on this event, or to register, please visit www.ohiomorganhorse.com or contact Joyce Burroughs at [email protected].

The Ohio Morgan Horse Association is an American Morgan Horse Association Recognized Club.  The object of OMHA is to encourage and promote interest in the breeding, use and ownership of Morgan horses as a versatile breed.
