Mid America Spring Moves To Madison's Brand New Facility

Mid-America Horse Show Association has moved its spring show to the Madison, Wisconsin Alliant Energy Center’s brand new facility specifically designed for livestock.  The show also has a new name –– Mid-America Spring Fling – and dates a week later, April 2-4, Thursday-Saturday (but not on Easter Sunday).

The new Madison venue provides exhibitors excellent facilities with 120’x200’ make-up ring feeding into a show ring of same size, plus 500 stalls with 10’ wide aisles – all under one roof, totally enclosed, in the brand new 200,000- square-foot New Holland Pavilion #2 at the Alliant Energy Center.  Water and electric are located on all support pillars, they’re never more than three stalls away. Parking is free for show exhibitors.

Start Your Season at Madison’s New Facility

“We’d like to invite barns to start their season at our new Spring Fling Show.  Unlike our previous facility, Madison’s large make-up and show rings are both the same size, providing plenty of space for exhibitors to warm-up and show horses to their best advantage,” said Show Manager Joy Meierhans. Previous shows at Madison’s coliseum and arena venues always have had excellent footing.

Mid-America Spring Fling will include complete divisions for Five- and Three-Gaited, Fine Harness, Park and Park Pleasure performance horses as well as Saddlebred Pleasure classes for Show, Country, Western, Hunters and even Open classes for English, Western and Hunt seat horses.  There also are Hackney Show Pleasure Driving, Road Pony classes and saddle seat equitation age groups (including adult, walk-and-trot) plus Good Hands, USEF Medal, UPHA Challenge Cups (junior and adult) and Pleasure Medallion qualifiers.  All Academy classes are in the same afternoon session.

Mid-America Horse Show Association, celebrating 75 years serving the show horse community, produces three of its own shows and oversees a regional circuit of 25 affiliated shows in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri. With more than 350 individual, family and business memberships, Mid-America is one of the largest charter clubs of the American Saddlebred Horse Association.
