Robertson Equine Fall Sale A Huge Success

The Robertson Equine Fall Sale, held at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville, Ky., Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2014 was a huge success with sales of the varied group of consigned entries topping $1 million. More than 200 horses were on the auction block at this second of two sales held by Robertson Equine in Shelbyville. The numbers at the Fall sale were even bigger than the Spring Sale.
Jimmy and Helen Robertson run both the Spring and Fall sale and they assembled a great staff once again to make the sale so successful.
Some of the top entries sold include: Callaway’s She’s Got It All, consigned by Callaway Hills. The four-year-old five-gaited filly sold for $175,000. Three-year-old gaited filly Callaway’s Good Gossip was also consigned by Callaway Hills and she sold for $82,000. Two more Callaway Hills entries brought high prices. Callaway’s Cece and Seven, also a three-year-old five-gaited filly sold for $43,000. Callaway’s When The Stars Go Blue, a five-year-old three-gaited mare sold for $38,000.
Other top sellers included: Mister Harris, consigned by Don and Phyllis Brookshire. The show pleasure mount sold for $30,000.
Joan Hamilton, of Kalarama Farm, had more than one entry on the list including Queen’s Success. The Local Hero-sired broodmare sold for $24,000. Callaway’s Lady Mac, a hall of fame broodmare sired by Caramac, sold for $21,000 and Kalarama’s Nutty Buddy sold for $20,000. The weanling is sired by Undulata’s Nutcracker.
The recent winner of the Bluegrass Futurity at Kentucky Fall Horse Show, Courageous But Insane was consigned by Last Chance Farm and sold for $13,500.
Kenny and Ceil Wheeler consigned their reserve world’s champion roadster pony Runaway and the gelding sold for $18,500.
