Candids of the Week




Dena Lopez was the winner out of 19 in the first ever ASHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup. Created by ASHA’s Michelle Krentz, the Trainers’ Equitation Cup was the highlight of the Kentucky Fall Classic and raised $50,000 for the ASHA Marketing Committee.


Grandparents Danny and Kathy Cummins made it a real family affair at NTASHA this weekend with daughter Ella Cearley and granddaughters Gracie and Hannah. Showing in everything from walk/trot on the lead to amateur five-gaited.


Besides winning the Bluegrass Futurity Two-Year-Old Under Saddle class with Vegas Jackpot, Melissa Moore worked tirelessly on producing the Kentucky Fall Classic.


Pictured with the Little Saddlers right before they walked the pattern in the ring for the ASHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup, Michelle Partridge was the creator of the class, which brought about great enthusiasm, great competition and great giving.


Courageous But Insane (First Night In x Call Me A Lady) was a standout winner of the Bluegrass Futurity Weanling class, led by J.D. Gardner and Joe T. Smith for Last Chance Farm LLC.


Lisa Balcerak was congratulated by her mother, Sassy Geri, Mayo Moctezuma and Richmond DeHart after winning the Adult Show Pleasure qualifier on Friday night with Pola Negri at the Minnesota Futurity Horse Show. The dup came back even better on Sunday to win the championship.


Erik Kirsch and Dave Trussell did an outstanding job with Heir-A-Dice to win the MN Futurity Limited Breeder’s Weanling Championship last weekend. Trussell Stables had a winner back in 2012 as well with this same cross  Love Is In The Heir x Gypsy’s Mabelline giving them A ChillIn The Heir.


Leigh Erickson, Chris Varner, Lori Enger and Susan Lewis were able to relax after serving at the Wine & Cheese party sponsored by Bob Jensen Stables Friday night at Minnesota Futurity Horse Show. Leigh won the Pleasure prospect class with Reedann’s Wild Heir.  Chris Varner and CH Callaway’s Full Moon won the Five-Gaited Country Pleasure class.
