ASHA Trainers' Equitation Cup

The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) is pleased to announce the First Annual ASHA Trainer’s Equitation Cup at the Kentucky Fall Classic Horse Show on Saturday, October 4, 2014 in Lexington, KY at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The class will consist of rail work and a work out. The class will only be open to 10 entries. The entries will be decided by nominations. The ten trainers who have the most nomination funds raised by the close of the Friday afternoon session will compete in the ASHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup on Saturday afternoon. The opening nomination bid for each trainer is $100.

The workout for the class will be posted in the horse show office one hour prior to the start of the Saturday afternoon session. The trainers will draw for their horse in the show office one hour before the session begins, and have a warm-up period of 10 minutes before the gate call of the class. When class number 64 lines up, each trainer should meet in the warm up area of the Alltech Arena with their saddle to mount their drawn horse. The ASHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup will be class 64 A.

The winning trainer will be awarded a one-year membership to ASHA ($70 value) and the UPHA ($65 value), a full color page in the 2015 Journal of the American Saddlebred commemorating their win, and a tricolor ribbon and trophy.

To nominate a trainer or to become the title sponsor of the class, please contact Michelle Partridge, ASHA Media Production & Marketing Manager at 859-259-3887 or [email protected]. All nominations will be kept anonymous, and you may pay by check, credit card, or cash. ASHA is a 501(c)3 non-profit, meaning all nominations and sponsorships are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The ASHA Trainers’ Equitation Cup will benefit American Saddlebred breed promotion and marketing.

We welcome you to be a part of what is sure to be a fun and exciting class! Please check the ASHA Facebook Page for up to the minute trainer nomination standings.
