Gary Saccocia, Jr. Recovering From Fall
Friday, March 03, 2006

Well-known New England equine dentist Gary Saccocia, Jr. is recovering from a bad fall last weekend which resulted in broken vertebrae. He has undergone two surgeries to repair the vertebrae and secure his spine.

Part of a father/son team which works on most of the major show horse and racing stables in New England, Saccocia fell off of a ladder while trimming some tree branches. His wife Jill and daughters Kasey and Kellie show the Morgan mare Indian Creek Belle Star under the direction of Lillian Gilpin at Rocking Horse Farm, Plymouth, Mass. Gary himself made a few show ring appearances last year in the pleasure driving division.

Jill reports that the doctors feel the surgeries were a success and that there doesn’t appear to be any sign of paralysis. He will be resting for the next three months and is estimated to be out of work for at least six months. Gary Saccocia Sr., will be handling the family business while he is out.

Saccocia should be home from the hospital by March 6. Anyone wishing to send cards may do so at 17 Marjorie Drive, Halifax, MA 02338.
