Open Three-Gaited Park
Nurse Goodbody and Rob Byers dominated the point standings with 170 points, 31 more than the nearest competitor. They earned these points in nine performances including a reserve finish in the open three-gaited park mares at Louisville. Bruce and Pam Milligan own the High Point Report champion.
Waltz and Ruth Gimpel earned the reserve high point finish with 139 points earned in eight performances which included seven blues; most notably the Three-Gaited Park World’s Grand Championship and a stallion/gelding world’s championship.
Lisa Strickland showed Sunshine Way to the third highest finish for owner Julie Hambrick. Together they earned 134 points including 54 points from Louisville for a world’s championship and a top three finish in the world’s grand championship class.
I’m Radiating Too finished in fourth in the standings. Delovely’s Mark Turner and Missy Hughes took turns in the saddle with top performances at St. Louis, Indianapolis, Midwest and All American to earn their 117 points.
Tied for fourth is New York Style and Lynda Freseth who earned their 117 points from four victories including a world’s championship and a reserve world’s grand championship. Guy and Karen Smith owned this talented entry in 2004
Ghost of Gypsy and Todd Perkins claimed the fifth place finish with 113 points earned in eight performances including wins at FASH, Minnesota State Fair and Tanbark.
The rest of the top ten finishers include Go Baby Go and John Field, Latte and Steve Gassen, Detached and Lewis Eckard, See Ya Saturday and Erin Boggs, and Purrfectly Perfect PHF with Melinda Moore.
Amateur Three-Gaited Park
Another highly competitive division, the winner was once again clear. CH A Step of Time and Luanne Kilday earned 240 points, 41 more than the nearest competitor, in 12 performances. Two victories at Louisville helped make for an outstanding season, but add firsts at Rock Creek, Kentucky Fall Classic, Asheville, Blue Ridge, and the American Royal, and you have a perfect undefeated season.
Kelly Theis and CH Matching Spirit also had 12 trips to the show ring to earn their reserve finish in the high point standings. Wins at ASAW Summer Fun, Tanbark, Des Moines, Wisconsin Futurity and Louisville, and other quality shows at Madison and the American Royal made for a terrific season for the pair. They earned the amateur stallions/geldings world’s championship and finished third in the world’s grand championship.
Promise to Dance and Marie Gwinn earned a third place finish in the standings with 182 points. Wins at North Carolina State Fair and J.D. Massey compounded with a world’s championship in the amateur mares and other outstanding shows at Southeastern, ASAC, Blue Ridge and Asheville, earned this talented team their third place standing.
Breathe and Alexa Loudon continue to be a crowd favorite wherever they go. Two reserve performances at Louisville plus wins at Kentucky Spring Premier, Shelbyville, and Lexington Junior League earned them 154 points and a fourth place finish in the High Point Report.
CH Ramses and Amanda Dellinger earned the fifth place spot with 149 points from 13 performances. Wins at Southeastern, ASAC, Pro Am, Germantown and Dixie Cup made for a season of success.
Rounding out the top ten champions are The Top Banana and Andy Hutson, Going to the Sun and Melinda Young, Over Achiever and Jenifer Geisler, CH Wing’s Main Attraction and Adrienne Fitch, Another Bay and the late Brennan Baumer, and Deerhaven’s Stay Tuned and Leandra Cogar. Two hundred and forty two different horses earned points in this highly competitive division.
Open Fine Harness
Over 160 different horses earned points in the open fine harness category. Tornaado’s Tidal Wave and Mike Roberts topped the ranking with a clear 39 point margin, earning 175 points in 11 performances for the Simone Sorenson Estate. In addition to a fourth place finish at Louisville, this consistent team earned blue ribbons at Chapter 5, Lexington Junior League and St. Louis.
Kim Cowart and New York Trend earned the High Point Report reserve finish with 136 points in nine performances. Owner Stefanie Sanchez did the honors at J. D. Massey and Roanoke and Cowart directed New York Trend to the top spots with wins at North Carolina State Championships, J.D. Massey, and Roanoke.
In only seven performances, John Conatser and Gone Platinum earned 128 points for a third place finish in the point standings. Wins at Bonnie Blue, Midwest, and the American Royal coupled with a second and fourth place finish at Louisville made for a winning season for owner Mary Sally Aylward.
Four time Fine Harness World’s Grand Champion and CH Callaway’s Copyright earned 60 points from his two wins at Louisville again this year. The popular team also captured blues at KASPHA, Rock Creek, Kentucky Fall Classic and All American Classic. From six performances, the team earned 120 points and a fourth place finish.
Catalytic and Evan Orr collected points throughout the season in this division with good shows at Raleigh Spring, J.D. Massey, and Asheville. Later in the season Susan Hollowell purchased the campaigner and started out with two strong reserve performances at the North Carolina State Championships.
The remainder of the top ten horses of the 160 competing are Revelation’s Glory and Ann Thibo, Fox Rox and Bill Hammerlund, Dances on Air and Danette Musselman, Just About Perfect and Lisa Strickland, CH Kalarama’s New Sensation and Karen Smith, and Gladys Knight with Randy Cole.
Junior Fine Harness
The junior fine harness competition was highly competitive and the points spread is one of the closer in the High Point Report this year. Only eight points separated the champion and the reserve winner.
It’s Double O Deuce and Dr. Alan Raun edged out the competition making eight top performances including wins at Illinois State Fair and Wisconsin Futurity. They also earned a fourth and a sixth place finish at Louisville to earn their 148 points and the High Point Report Championship.
Nelson Green and The Great Gaspar earned 140 points in seven performances including wins at Louisville, Asheville, Shelbyville, Rock Creek, Lexington and Kentucky Fall Classic. It was a stellar undefeated season for the outstanding team and their 140 points earned them a reserve finish in the points race.
You Move Me and Smith Lilly earned 105 points in six performances this season including a reserve in the junior fine harness mare stake at Louisville. Wins at J.D. Massey and Blue Gray were also highlights of the season.
Sugar Pine and Carter Cox earned 101 points from five performances to finish in fourth in the point standings. Wins at Rock Creek and Lexington and reserves at Louisville and the American Royal made for a great season for owner Mary Williams.
Aurora's Asset and Rick Wallen finished in the fifth spot with 99 points earned in six performances at six different shows. Wins at ASAW Summer Fun, Oshkosh, Wisconsin Futurity and the American Royal capped off their season.
Other top ten high point champions are Last Tango In Paris and Melissa Moore, Days Grecian Gray and Smith Lilly, Platinum’s First Asset and Tom Sworm, Pardon the Interruption and Mark Wilson, Just Wicked and A.J. Bruwer, and Coco Loco with John Conatser.
Amateur/Ladies Fine Harness
We combine the amateur and ladies fine harness classes as many exhibitors move back and forth frequently between amateur and ladies classes.
This intensifies the competition, but Harlem’s Santa Fe proved up to the challenge, besting the competition by 73 points, a huge spread in this year’s competition. Susan Bartlett and Harlem’s Santa Fe entered the show ring 13 times in 2004, coming away with six blues, three seconds, two thirds and two fourths including second and fourth place finishes at Louisville to earn their decisive victory.
Kool Tyme BH and Iris James earned the reserve high point finish with 143 points from 11 performances. Highlights of the season included wins at Devon, River Ridge and Asheville as well as a third place finish in the ladies fine harness class at Louisville.
Candle Dan and Carl Nichols enjoyed a terrific season and earned 134 points in seven performances for a third place finish in the High Point Report. Perhaps the biggest high of the season was the world’s championship in the amateur gentleman’s class. Kathryn Nichols took her turn in the buggy at J.D. Massey and also came out a winner.
Metro Heirea and Mary Sally Aylward enjoyed a winning season finishing strong with two great victories at the American Royal. Added to other outstanding performances at Midwest, Bonnie Blue and Louisville, this team earned 131 points and a fourth place finish in the High Point Report.
Catalytic and Susan Hollowell earned fifth place in the points race with eight times in the show ring including two winning performances at ASHAV.
Rounding out the top ten champions were CH Kalarama’s New Sensation and Karen Smith and Lynda Freseth, I’m An Early Riser and Joan Adler, No Jacket Required and Sally Spalding, Callaway’s Head Over Heels and Susan Olcott, and CH Mercer Raceabout with Mia Blevins Morris.
Adult Three-Gaited Show Pleasure
With 196 horses earning points in this division, once again the race was competitive, yet once again our winner seemed to enjoy a clear margin of victory - in this case 54 points. My Grande and Kristen Pettry earned 272 points in 16 performances including wins at Penn National, Chapter 5, American Royal, Midwest, Madison, St. Louis, Lexington and the Royal. Two reserve performances at Louisville capped off the season in winning fashion.
CH Sweet Virginia and Barbara Woods also enjoyed a terrific season including 15 performances to earn 218 points. Highlights include wins at Southeastern, Asheville, Chattanooga/Cleveland, Blue Ridge, Alabama Charity and Tampa Charity. The talented team also enjoyed second and third place finishes at Louisville.
Reedann’s Sniper and Dorian Stulberg Anderson earned 209 points in 16 performances this season propelling them to the third place finish in this competitive division. Wins at FASH, Minnesota State Fair, Des Moines, Madison, and Tanbark made for an outstanding season.
CH A Magic Spell and Mary Jane Gralton are always a consistently good team and this season was one for the record books. World’s Grand Champion. World’s Champion. Wins at Milwaukee, Midwest, Mid America Mane Event, and Wisconsin Futurity made for an undefeated 2004 season for this team.
MW Whatever Works and Kerry Honkamp earned a fifth place finish in the High Point Report with 187 points earned in 13 performances. Highlights of the season include wins at the National Pleasure Show, Wisconsin Futurity, Mid America Mane Event and ASAW Summer Fun.
Rounding out the top ten champions were Ocean Paradise and Andrea LaDue, CH Bonnie Buck and Amanda O’Keefe Murchison, CH LaGuardia and Meridyth Munns, CH In Neon ERB and Jamie Hitchin, and New York’s Best M & N with Mimi Bahcall.
Junior Exhibitor 17 & Under Three-Gaited Show Pleasure
Absolutely Exquisite and Abby Krempasky topped the High Point Report following an outstanding season. Two victory passes at Louisville were certainly the highlight, but the talented team also took blue ribbons at Madison, Blue Ridge, Milwaukee, Mid America Mane Event, and Midwest. Together they earned 248 points in 14 performances.
Only 12 points behind the champion are Callaway’s Newscaster and Brittany Cortina. Showing an amazing 17 times this season, the talented team took blues at Indianapolis, the National Pleasure Show, St. Louis and the Illinois State Fair.
Meagan Kucera and The Bess Yet enjoyed a terrific season including 14 performances to earn 216 points and a third place finish in the points race. Highlights include wins at KASPHA, Kentucky Spring Premier, Rock Creek, Lexington and the American Royal.
Samuel Adams and Amy Rives also did their share of winning. Southeastern, Kentucky Fall Classic, Chattanooga/Cleveland, and Bonnie Blue just to name the blues. Together they showed 14 times and earned 175 points for a fourth place finish in the standings.
CH It’s Yabba Dabba Doo Time and Sydney Carter earned a fifth place finish with 157 points in 14 trips. Wins at North Carolina State Fair, Blowing Rock, Carolina Classic, North Carolina State Championships, J.D. Massey, and Raleigh Spring Premier highlighted their season.
The rest of the top ten high point winners are Cloverleaf’s Pocketful of Miracles and Megan McClure, CH Riva Diva and Ali Judah, Wild Attachment and Addie Jo Bohrer, Lookin Yonder and Laura Dozer, and CH Lover’s Heir and Cassi Wentz.
Junior Exhibitor 14 & Under Three-Gaited Show Pleasure
Kelsey Olson and So Audacious top the High Point Report in the 14 and under category, earning 202 points in their 15 performances. This young team earned seven blue ribbons, five reds, a third, a fourth and a fifth including second and fifth place finishes at Louisville. This placed them firmly in the lead in the High Point Report, more than 25 points ahead of the next competitor.
CH Future Treasure and Caitlin Leith earned the reserve finish in the High Point Report with 176 points accumulated in 14 performances. Twelve of these performances resulted in blue ribbons and they earned a fifth place finish at Louisville.
CH Shiny New Penny and Faye Wuesthofen earned 155 points which put them in third place. The highlight of the season included two victories at Louisville and seven other top performances added 95 more points to their total.
May Issue and Allison Rohloff earned the fourth place finish with 141 points earned in seven performances including a world’s championship and a reserve world’s grand championship. Other highlights of the season included wins at Lexington, Midwest and the Iowa State Fair.
CH Trapp Mountain and Angela Darrow teamed up in their first season together to earn 137 points in nine performances including second and third place finishes at Louisville. Wins at Oshkosh, Madison, and ASAW Summer Fun added to their successful season.
Rounding out the top ten points winners are CF Chief’s Rage and Sarah Werry, My Gabrielle and Jessica Northcutt, CH She Bop and Sarah Singer, CH Riva Diva and Ali Judah (who also earned points in the senior division), and Vegas Dreams with Victoria McCune.
